INCOMING 6TH GRADER HANGOUT

On July 26th we are celebrating our newest members to the youth group, our 6th graders! We are going to go to Dreamland from 5:00-7:00pm to play some putt putt, have dinner together and hangout! It is going to be a blast! This is a free event and feel free to invite any friends you would like as well!

Also, after this event all incoming 6th graders will be welcomed into any youth group they want to join in for the rest of the summer!

WELCOME TO DSPC YOUTH!

Youth Stories

We are difference makers.....

In February 2020 our High School Youth did their annual Acts of Kindness Scavenger Hunt where we took a night to go all around Drip to do acts of kindness in our community! We did everything from cleaning people's cars, to helping out at the grocery store, to feeding goats and even cleaning a chicken coop!

Over 5 weeks in summer of 2020, around 12 students gathered each week on a Thursday night to talk about racial unity and our faith. We discussed privilege, systematic racism, social justice and more! We also got a chance to check out examples of how God is a God of justice and how He cares for oppressed groups in the Bible. Our youth group is devoted to continue to "be the bridge" as we fight against racism and continue to love God's people!

Even during a pandemic, our youth got a chance to help out Sleep in Heavenly Peace in October of 2020. DSPC and our youth made over 30 beds for local families who were in need of beds. Whether it was sanding wood, hammering holes into the wood or staining the wood our youth loved helping out!  We are so thankful for our High School Youth Volunteer Chris Millette who led this service project for our community!

From January 2021 to February 2021, DSPC youth led our congregation in gathering canned goods and money donations to help out our local food pantry, Helping Hands. In that month we raised over 2,900 dollars and collected 350 canned goods! That averages out to each member of our church bringing 10 cans!!  We also competed against other churches in our Presbytery and got 4th overall for most canned goods collected!

DSPC College Ministry

As students rise up through our 6th-12th grade youth program, we want to make sure that we are still connecting, caring and empowering our college students as they venture out in the world for a new chapter in their life. At DSPC, we feel the need to continue our ministry to these college students after they finish high school. Our college ministry focuses on checking in with students, caring for them while they are here or away and empowering them to continue their walks with Christ wherever they are! Contact Kevin Wilganowski or Laura Payne for more details or to get involved!
