Sunday July 18th
Opening Prayer - Holy Spirit, we trust you to work in our lives, to shape us into a closer image of you, and to empower us to deliver the Gospel where ever you send us. Amen.
Intro - Before you jump in the deep end of the Jesus pool, take some time to unpack your bags with one another since the last time you were able to gather.
Just for Fun - If you had a friend who spoke to you in the same way that you sometimes speak to yourself, how long would you allow this person to be your friend?
1. What has your walk with Christ been like lately?
2. How has your personal study and prayer life developed?
3. Where has God called you to bring good news in you everyday actions?
Scripture - Ephesians 4:11-16 (This should be read aloud)
11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Discussion Questions - (These questions are based off Sunday's sermon, if you missed it you can catch up here, it makes a lot more sense.)
1. What is one way that God uniquely created you to play a role in his Kingdom?
2. Are you plugged into the community of faith, a network of other disciples, so that you can live God's bigger mission?
3. What is your foundation for living and decision making? Is it rooted in the Jesus and the Gospel or something else?
Closing Prayer - God, help me live a Jesus-centered life, to play my unique role, be a part of something bigger, and stand on solid foundation with you. Amen.
