Children's MinistryDSPC is blessed with numerous little people who represent the future of DSPC and of our community. Consequently, children's ministry has been a high priority since our beginning. This ministry includes regular Sunday school classes, involvement in morning worship, Vacation Bible School every summer, and other special educational, mission-related and fellowship activities. Our children actively participate in worship through singing, dancing, preparing the table for worship, as well as the weekly children’s sermon. Also, on the first Sunday of each month, the preschool through grade five children return to worship to participate in the Lord’s Supper. Our Current LeadersTommy Williams is the Director of Childrens Ministries. Tommy comes to DSPC with a good understanding of what it means to serve Christ through church ministry since his father was a Methodist youth pastor. He grew up in Delaware and had the good sense to follow his fiancée, Kelly (a Texan and a UT grad) to Texas! God began to cultivate Tommy’s passion for ministry to children and youth during his time working with Habitat for Humanity as the coordinator for youth and family groups who came from around the country to serve. Following his time at Habitat he served a yearlong internship at Camp Champions in Marble Falls that ended in May of this year. Tommy is excited about joining the DSPC staff to come alongside our children on their journey of faith. He has been studying our new children’s educational strategy and looks forward to implementing our new children’s Sunday morning program, Route 252, that will officially begin in September. Learn more about Route 252 below. Luisa Acosta cares for children ages two and under. Marie Espinosa, child care coordinator, teaches our three and four year old children. Our New Program — ROUTE 252ROUTE 252 is our New Children's Sunday morning educational program offered during both the 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services. Route 252 is based on Luke 2:52 that says, Jesus grew in stature, wisdom and favor with God and man. ROUTE 252 will begin our children's journey towards transformation into the likeness of Christ that is the destination for all of us who follow Christ. Each month the children will study a biblical virtue found in the scripture. Through both large and small group activities led by Tommy and a group of adult Navigators the children will discover how each virtue will:
